In the years since it began, ISACA’s CMMI model has expanded beyond software development to help organizations around the world, in any industry, understand their current level of capability and performance and offer a guide to optimize business results. It is one integrated model with 8 domains that apply to different business environments.

The integrated CMMI model provides best practices that enable organizations to improve performance of their key capabilities, providing a clear path for building, improving, and benchmarking capability. Organizations are able to create a view of the model that meets their specific performance improvement needs. The CMMI model works well and easily integrates with other standards, methodologies, and frameworks, such as ISO, Agile, PMBOK, and ITIL.
